Another Creative Use for Co2

If you’ve read some of our previous blogs, you’ve likely determined that Co2 is an incredibly versatile gas used for a number of different applications. One area where you may not think to use it is for personal hygiene, and yet someone’s already doing just that.

Indeed, a company based in Canada has earned coverage for its technology capable of using Co2 to create a soap that’s also friendly to the environment. The Co2 is captured from commercial edifices prior to being absorbed by the atmosphere. It is then converted into entirely safe pearl ash, a common ingredient used for making detergents and soaps.

The device used to make the soap runs waste flue gas through a reaction chamber that uses heat to recover Co2, a valuable by-product which is then mixed with a carbon-reduction chemical to produce carbonate.

Should you need Co2 for your business, we are proud to be a major supplier of CO2 as well as dry ice, nitrogen, and more.
